The Godfather (A Princess Bedtime Story)

godfatherprincessKids love stories. And sometimes, the only thing that can get your kid to bed is to tell them a bedtime story. But kids these days don't settle for the Pokey Little Puppy, or the Little Engine That Could. They crave something more exciting. Something with more raw, unadulterated, excitement. And if you have a daughter like mine, you need to deliver a princess story on demand, every night before your little princess goes to sleep.

But when you're coming off a crappy day at work and all you want to do is catch American Idol at 8, the last thing you want to do is whip up a story in your head.

A great princess bedtime story should have the following criteria:
• It needs to be quick: 5 minutes to tell max
• You need a story that you can make different every night
• You need a story that you can memorize
• And it needs to have princess elements in it

{mosnooad}That's where I come in. After months and months of testing, I think I have developed a simple solution that will get your kids sleeping in no time. If you take a story you already know and substitute some Princess elements into it, you will be all set. That's why I am pleased to present to you The Godfather (Princess Style)

Once upon a time, a prince came home from a battle with his girlfriend to see his sister, the princess get married. One of the prince's brothers was sent to a different kingdom to ask for a favor from a mean man. After the man said, "no", the brother hurt a pegasus pony and went back to see the king.

Then a mean man asked the king if he would do something for him. The king said, "no" and then the mean guy tried to hurt the king! Then the prince hurt the mean man and had to go to another mystical land.

Meanwhile another brother of the prince gets killed as he was outside the castle and the king was very sad. The prince meets a beautiful woman and they get married! Then the mean people hurt her. The prince then comes home to see the king and then the king dies because he has a bad heart and oranges give him an upset stomach.

The prince then realizes that some people in the family are bad people and he makes them leave. Then he becomes the king!
THE END

  • I don't think bed time stories are still effective these days to make them sleep. What I'm doing to make my cousin fall asleep is that I'm singing.

Yes! My daughter\'s always asking me to make up stories instead of reading the overpriced books we got her, and I never thought of using story lines I already know and love. Though, I have acknowledged the ease with which anyone who can rhyme and draw can publish a little girly book - all you need is some combination of princesses, fairies, butterflies, dresses/jewelry, a ballet/dance/ball, and a wish that will come true.

Instead of killed, I\'m going to say \"Moved to Texas\"
