According to a new study, us dads should just pack it in and go through the motions of unhappiness for the rest of our lives. The research suggests having children brings no increase in “life satisfaction” in men, and only makes women happier once the youngsters start school.
According to the study, children aged three to four have a negative effect on female life satisfaction and for men, children below five years old “significantly reduce” life satisfaction.
I’m no Clemens apologist, but it seems like each of the players on the list have already been convicted in the court of public opinion. It harkens back to the days of McCarthyism where, as soon as Joe McCarthy spoke your name, you were labeled a pinko commie bastard. How could Burgess Meredith be a communist?
Some of the evidence seems a little sketchy as do some of the omissions. How was it decided that an incomplete report would be published? How was it decided that players who obviously used something to enhance their game, like Sammy Sosa.
Canseco has said that Mitchell’s report is a farce and that certain players were left out. What I want to know is, how did they decide where to draw the stick in the sand? How did Clemens get Mitch slapped when players Sosa were left alone?
I don’t know about you but when I hear that someone got his sac torn off I don’t need to know the details. But in case, you want to know what happened, apparently a guy named Kevin Russ, was allegedly attacked by Rebecca Arnold Dawson, 34, on Dec. 26, 2006, and despite his special forces training, he only hit Arnold after she “mauled’ his face and tore his testicles off.
Here’s the real ball buster: She is charged with malicious castration, a Class C felony, which carries only a maximum sentence of 73 to 97 months. In case you are wondering, his nuts were reattached successfully.
So asks the Gin Blog. For those unfamiliar, Oobi is a kid’s show on Noggin: Nickelodeon’s Preschool Channel. It evolves around hands who are faces. It creeps the hell out of me and after seeing this video, I don’t think I will ever let my kids watch it again. What do you think?
Let me just start by saying that I am not some hippy, tree hugging, make-love-not-war guy. I understand why someone would want to own a weapon. The second amendment to the Constitution of the United States ensures us all the right to bear arms. And whether you are of the belief that "guns kill people" or "people kill people" the fact that even one person owns a gun ensures that someone else is going to want to own a bigger gun in order to keep the other in check.
I read the news. I see what guns do
I have never felt compelled to own a weapon of my own.
Disney has banned smoking in its films. They have also taken the initiative to add anti-smoking public service announcements to their DVDs as well as to pre-movie entertainment.
As the studio that is responsible for 18% of the smoking scenes in the movies today, this is…
Unnnnh? Did I read this correctly? A big corporation acting responsibly? As an open opponent to smoking, I feel like Homer in the Land of Chocolate.
Some people are given gifts by [insert higher power here] to do things that none of us mere mortals can do. Fewer of them have the opportunity to take their gifts to the main stage and live out their dreams. The stakes in professional sports are very high and there is a small window of opportunity to take advantage of athletic talents while they are young. So when the Utah Jazz's Derek Fischer's daughter's life was jeopardized by cancer in her left eye, what did he do?
Get off that computer and go outside! You are limited to 30 minutes of video games per day. Those games are too violent. As a kid, I heard all of this and many of you are saying the same things to your kids. You are concerned by the amount of time they are spending with a controller in their hand or sitting at a computer terminal questing for XP, blowing away aliens, building, deploying and destroying armies and socializing with their friends. I read a very troubling article the other day, written by the esteemed Dr. William Sears, M.D. The article, titled, “The Daddy-Baby Connection: Everyday Ways to Help Them Bond” is the perfect example of why Foodad and I started Noodad.com . In it, Dr. Sears gives great advice to new moms and in the process paints the picture of a clueless, powerless, bumbling new dad who is basically a sad sac.
There may be those types of guys out there, but there is a difference between being clueless, and being a total loser. If you are a dad reading this, you may conclude that, according to Dr. Sears, your wife knows everything and you don’t know $#!t. So let me bring some reality into this situation.
