Dreft: Do You Need It?

I know you certainly don"t feel you need the added price of it. Unless your kid is super sensitive to soaps, I don"t think you need it. I"ve heard that if you just wash your kid"s clothes in your detergent but use 1/4 the dose it is virtually the same thing. Of course they will say your kid has sensitive skin and you need to be extra careful. Yes, that"s true for some babies but not all. It"s a brilliant advertising plan playing on parent"s fear and ignorance. But don"t just take our word for it.

If you google, "Is Dreft worth it?" you will find differing opinions. There is a good sampling of comments from here. These comments will differ from "My baby is worth every penny" to "Don"t waste your money." You should make your own call and again it depends on the sensitivity of your child"s skin.

If you ask us we say don"t buy the hype! Buy a dye and perfume free detergent and use it for the entire family. Or you could refinance your mortgage and buy Dreft. Your call.

What we did is just buy All Free or Tide Free. No added colors, dyes or perfumes. Much cheaper, and you can buy it in bulk at Costco, etc.
