STEP 2
Ages 1-3
Around $40
BASIC DESCRIPTION
This a red sporty plastic car with yellow squishy horn and fake dual exhaust tailpipes. The manufacturer lists the following features:
• Sporty foot-to-floor roadster lets toddlers wheel around in style
• Retro styling
• Realistic headlight and tail light decals
• Pretend steering wheel with honking horn
• Minimal adult assembly required
• Maximum weight 40 lbs.
TIME INVESTMENT
They aren"t lying. It really is minimal adult assembly required. You only have to put on the wheels and the decals. You will be more pissed off with cutting down the box for the recycling than you will for the assembly. Estimated time investment: 15-30 minutes.
PAIN SCALE
If you have put together toy plastic cars before this will be no problem. If you have experience with the Cozy Coupe, this will be a walk in the park. It is the standard metal capnuts with plastic casings that you need to nail on the axle. This comes with a capnut tool that holds the capnut in place. This is very handy.
The hardest part of the process is in step 10: Attaching the front axle. You need to snap this one in place rather than threading through the holes. The center part snaps in no problem but the sides need some work. The trick I figured out is to have the car upside down with the front of the car on your lap. Push down the sides using your lap as the table. Other than that, assembly is a breeze.
Estimated pain scale: 2 blisters
Special note: Keep the capnut tool and the extra capnuts. When you need to become a toy vehicle mechanic later on, you"ll be glad you did.
Good luck Noodads!
