We always prep our son's outfit for the next day before we put him to bed. This extra little bit sure helps when we're scrambling around in the morning.

Mornings are pretty tightly-structured for us. I cook up some hot cereal (oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, Malt-o-Meal, etc.) as soon as I get up so it has time to thicken & cool while I shower. Then I get mostly dressed - except for, as you wisely mentioned, my shirt - and by that time, I'm ready to wake Liam. He's always eager to jump right into breakfast as soon as he gets up, so it all times out pretty well as long as I haven't slacked off before I get in the shower.

Sometimes I mess around with checking email and get off-track. I'd say that's something to avoid if possible.
