11 year old's should be mature enough to have a cellphone. my 11 year old son has one and he teaches me how to us a cellphone and a computer.

A friend of mine says that kids should get a cell phone when they can pay for their talks, just because they will value it more. I also think that all these safety talks are nonsense. It's better to establish nice relation with your kids, so that you do not need to control them and check every step.

I definately agree, when I am shown that my son is responsible enough to understand that phones cost money, and that if need be, they will have to pay for it themselves. That said, I do really like the idea of the firefly for the smaller children out there, its got like 3 buttons one of them mom and one of them dad. This thing would be great in a \\\”i lot my kid in the mall\\\” type of situation.
