The Baby Registry

Dude. You have to do it. You have to do it because people want to buy you and your baby stuff to mark the occasion of the birth. So it might as well be cool stuff. Go with the mom. Depending on your relationship and how much say you have in decisions, you may have to strategically barter decision making responsibilities.

Word of advice: Trade up for the stroller and the baby monitor. As far as I was concerned, receiving blankets and sheets, and diaper pails were a dime a dozen. But I needed a macking ride for my kid. My wife could choose the swing but I wanted to register for the baby monitor with the security camera and television monitor. No one bought it for us but at least it was on the list. Remember: this isn"t like a wedding registry where there are items that you really like but do not need. I really wanted a Snoopy SnoCone maker but my life did not depend on it. But like other registries remember there are return policies for store credit. Put more than you think you could ever want on your baby registry and then return them and use the credit for the new swing that swings 4 different ways or the slick Coach leather diaper bag.

Now go shopping.
